Before:

The homeowner noticed peeling paint, soft wood, and signs of moisture damage along the bottom of the window frame. Upon inspection, we found the outer sill partially rotted, especially near the corners. Water infiltration had begun affecting the lower trim as well, but the main frame remained structurally sound.

Our repair process:

  1. Carefully removed damaged and rotted wood from the sill.
  2. Treated surrounding areas with wood hardener to stop further decay.
  3. Custom-cut and installed a new sill section using rot-resistant wood.
  4. Recaulked all seams and primed the new surface.
  5. Painted to match the original exterior trim.

After:

The sill was fully restored — solid, sealed, and visually seamless with the rest of the window frame. The repair blended perfectly with the existing trim, and the window was now protected against further moisture intrusion. The homeowner regained peace of mind and saved money by avoiding a full window replacement.

The sill was no longer providing proper drainage, risking further structural damage.

Repair Process:

  1. Carefully removed the rotted portion of the sill without disturbing the window frame

  2. Treated surrounding wood with rot-preventive hardener to stabilize the material

  3. Custom-fabricated and installed a matching section using rot-resistant wood

  4. Sealed joints with waterproof caulk

  5. Primed and painted the repaired area to match the home’s exterior trim
